Why this happens
Our age restriction policy means you cannot register for an NHS account. Anyone over the age of 16 can use the NHS account.
Some GP practices allow people aged 13, 14 or 15 to use the NHS account.
For more information about our policies, read NHS App terms of use.
What to do
If you are 13, 14 or 15 years old
Check with your GP practice to see if they will let you use the NHS account.
Your GP practice may then provide Patient Online (POL) details.
These will include:
- Linkage key (sometimes called a 'passphrase')
- ODS code
- Account ID
Then register for the NHS Account using POL.
If you are under 13 years old
Patients under the age of 13 cannot use the NHS Account at all.
