Linked profiles allow parents, family members and carers to access health services on behalf of other people.
Depending on which clinical system a practice uses, linked profiles might be known as proxy access. In the NHS App proxy access is always referred to as linked profiles. Linked profiles are available if a patient’s practice uses the EMIS or TPP clinical systems and if both patients are registered at your practice.
Linked profiles cannot be set up using the NHS App, but patients can access linked profiles in the app once you have set up their proxy access.
Parents with the NHS App can request through their GP that they set up a linked profile with their child on the app and request access to their child’s health record.
Provided parents are registered at the same GP practice as their child and request access to the child’s vaccinations record, once a linked profile is set up, parents will be granted access to certain information which should include polio vaccinations.
Linked profiles are subject to any local policies that apply.
